Challenger Middle School, Sunnyside School District, 6th Ave and Elvira.  Steel framed seven building campus of 210,000 sq ft.  Three of the buildings were two story classroom buildings.  The Gym had 82 ’ span steel trusses.  The classroom buildings had extensive 2nd floor walkways, exposed, with steel stairs and handrails.  The main architectural feature is the elevated canopy, supported by two 120’ long steel trusses.  The general contractor was Granville Constructors.  Completed in August, 1997.
