The Ina Gittings Project is located on the Mall at
the University of Arizona, across from McKale Center.
C.F. Jordan is the general contractor for building
this fine arts theater, with adjoining dance studios and exercise
rooms.
The stage has a 70' high steel frame to
accommodate the catwalk and stage rigging.
The old swimming pool has been removed, and the
ground is now being excavated for the basement and foundation of the
new building.
Steel joists and deck will be erected the last
week of May for the stage and exercise rooms and in July the steel
frame for the stage will be erected.
In December and January, a steel "scrim"
wall will be installed around the east side of the entrance.
The scrim is a large heavy wire mesh architectural feature.
